A Homecoming, Not Another Conference Abroad
For decades, Bengalis scattered across the world have gathered in distant cities to celebrate the place they left behind. Every reunion has carried with it the same longing–for familiar conversations, familiar flavours, familiar songs, and the unmistakable warmth of home.
Prabasi Bangasammelan turns that journey on its head.
Instead of recreating Bengal overseas, it invites the world back to Bengal itself. Back to Kolkata, where the stories began. Back to the city whose streets, literature, music, cuisine and ideas have shaped generations across continents. Set against the cultural landscape of Arts Acre, this is more than a conference–it is a return to roots, reimagined for a global Bengali community.
Here, nostalgia meets possibility. Conversations extend beyond memories into collaborations. Artists meet audiences, entrepreneurs meet investors, publishers meet storytellers, filmmakers find new viewers, and families rediscover the city that continues to shape their identity, wherever they now call home.
Some journeys take us away from home.
The most important ones bring us back.
Hosted at Arts Acre, Kolkata, under BCI Bengal Initiative (BCIBI) stewardship.
